Priyanka Vickram Chaturvedi is an Indian politician serving as Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra and Deputy Leader of Shiv Sena.

In the Union Budget 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman levied 30% tax on Profits from Crypto & 1% TDS from 1st April 2022. Recently, that Tax Legislation has been turned into a law.

Priyanka Chaturvedi, a supporter of Crypto and Web3, stated in a recent Parliament session that "India is the only country in the world that hasn't introduced a Bill for Cryptocurrencies but has taxed it." She went on to say that "the Indian Government is unable to appreciate the viewpoint and value of Crypto, Web3, and Blockchain."

She also encouraged the government to establish a regulated framework for cryptocurrency.

She concluded her speech by saying “We are living in the world of web 3.0, either we choose to bite the bullet or we dodge the bullet.”
