KKR have won the IPL two times in 2012 and 2014, both times under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir. Last season they were beaten by CSK in the finals. The Kolkata club is one of the most successful IPL clubs only behind Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians in terms of IPL trophies.
Now, KKR has planned to enter the Metaverse with the “Galaxy Of Knights”. The Metaverse is a network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connection. In futurism and science fiction, it is often described as a hypothetical iteration of the Internet as a single, universal virtual world that is facilitated by the use of virtual and augmented reality headsets.
KKR is going to reveal their entry into Metaverse tonight. For now, they have released these videos and sneak peeks in their social media handles.
KKR is following in the footsteps of Gujarat Titans. The new IPL franchise has already been into Metaverse. GT revealed their logo in the metaverse with the help of their captain Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill’s avatar.
So after GT, KKR is also entering the Metaverse and with the rapid growth of technology, more teams are expected to enter the Metaverse to give their fans an immersive experience.
