Spotify NFT Gallery Feature Trials In The US
Spotify is testing a new feature on its artist profile pages: displaying NFT collections. Basically, artists will be able to promote their own NFTs on their profile pages.

At this moment, only a handful of Android users can check out the new feature. The app displays an NFT gallery on some of the top artists involved in the market, including Steve Aoki.

Spotify has just entered the NFT space in a surprising way. The giant company started to display an NFT gallery feature on some artists’ pages. For example, users can check out Steve Aoki or The Wombats’ latest collectibles via the Spotify Android app.

When you click on an NFT from the artist’s gallery, it will redirect you to their OpenSea page. To clarify, Spotify acts as a third party allowing content creators to promote their own collectibles.

However, we don’t know whether the feature will actually stay or not:

“Spotify is running a test in which it will help a small group of artists promote their existing third-party NFT offerings via their artist profiles,”  a spokesperson of the company said. “We routinely conduct a number of tests in an effort to improve artist and fan experiences. Some of those tests end up paving the way for a broader experience and others serve only as an important learning.”

In addition to displaying artist NFT galleries, Spotify also asked some of its users to complete an NFT-related survey. At this moment, some community members were thrilled while others – not so much.
